Mies van der Rohe’s masterpiece S.R. Crown Hall is featured on Google today, as the search engine’s artwork, in honor of his 126th birthday!  We had the honor of working on this modern icon in a project restoring it to original condition in 2005, a collaborative project only possible in partnership with our team of Gunny Harboe, Atelier Ten, Transsolar, and Clune Construction.  Thanks to everyone involved, and to our great clients at the Illinois Institute of Technology who had the vision to bring back its luster and also asked us to review its performance potential, a phase of “greening Crown Hall” which will hopefully be completed in the near future.
